It was a good day for local bands in the upper sections at the NEMMBA contest at the Post Mill Centre in South Normanton today with bands taking the opportunity to put the Area test pieces in front of an adjudicator in advance of the Yorkshire Areas next weekend.
In the second section, Chapeltown beat Silk Brass, Long Eaton and Ireland Colliery Chesterfield to take top spot with their rendition of Chaucer’s Tunes.
The first section was a little more weighted towards South Yorkshire bands with Strata from Barnsley beating Sheffield’s Stannington in to second spot with Cry of the Mountains. Midlands area band Blidworth finished a creditable third.
Roll on Bradford next weekend 🙂
